Yes the same problem here this API returns a list of clients that made a request and the specific time of day the request was made later if Twhirl would automatically requested the fetch list from Twitter when the limit was exceeded.
Can anybody reply here

I have a proposal for twitter and twhirl to consider: Have Twitter add an API for querying the API requests of the last hour.

The API would return a list of "clients" that made a request, and the specific time of day the request was made (yes, storing that would require work, but I highly suspect Twitter actually has logs to this affect already, else they don't know you've hit 70)

And then if Twhirl would automatically requested the fetch list from Twitter when the limit was exceeded (or upon unlock after it's exceeded), users would know where to go look to turn off API calls.

I'm so annoyed by this problem, and I really don't know where to fix it, within my massive social networking stream. Some clue would be fantasmic, and only Twitter can provide that clue. Currently, I need Twhirl set to 20 updates an hour, to have any hope of not being in the penalty box constantly.

I had never used twhirl when I installed it. I hadn't opened Twitterific in weeks. First time I opened Twhirl, limit exceeded. I turned down the number of requests to 20/hr. I follow less than 100 people. No dice. Although, Twitterific now does it, too. What's up with their API?

I have exactly the same problem than Bill.

I changed my password, and the new one is only at my (unique) Twhirl that I only use at ONE computer.

My request rate is set to 50, so it's a secure value (20 below the limit)...

But after one day waiting to the limit to be removed, I'm still getting the same error :(
